Have you ever craved trshek but also something as tasty and quick like hot cheetos? Both are so good and leaving you wanting more. Trshek which are meat filled dumplings, shaped by the palm of your hands, served in warm citrusy tomato soup. And then you have Flaming Hot Cheetos, factory made, spicy, crunchy corn puffs that are pretty addicting. Two foods from different regions of the world and once combined you inevitably create something new. A close analogy to what it feels like being raised in diaspora. The mix of these two cultures creates a third culture that helps navigate and define transnational identities. In a world where we’re always reminded of our “otherness”, this shirt is to celebrate our unique identities and culture, because some will never experience mixing trshek and hot cheetos. 

Third culture kids (TCK) are those that spent a significant portion of their developmental years in a culture other than their parents’. The third culture is the culture that the person creates for themselves as an amalgamation of their parents’ culture and the culture of their country. This collection is a reflection of Barwari and Aradini as their identities as third culture kids.
